Summary

Paul (Fish) Tito has forged a successful coaching career since retiring from rugby in 2012. He has coached at every amateur level – school, club, age group before entering the professional ranks.

Tito is a lineout specialist and was head hunted by the Blues to solve their lineout issues. He has great experience in coaching the skill and art of the lineout to players from all over the globe and has markedly improved all the teams lineout stats he has coached.

A legend of Hurricanes, Cardiff and Taranaki rugby, Tito returned to NZ in 2012 and worked as a Talent ID and Recruitment manager for rugby agency CSM (now Halo Sport). During this time he began his coaching career in earnest with New Plymouth Boys High School and Taranaki and Chiefs age group teams.

An exceptional lineout forward with a physical and competitive edge to his game, Tito started as a resource coach working on lineouts/ kick off skills and has focused his coaching development on the dark arts of forward play and team defence.

Joining the Taranaki staff he coached lineouts and defence from 2014-2017 and was appointed full-time assistance coach of the Mitre 10 Cup team in 2018 and joined Pau in the 2019 where he has filled the same role.

Covid meant a return home to NZ to be with family and Paul has coached Wellington at NPC level and the Western Force in Super Rugby in 2022.

Paul is very passionate about rugby and is known to foster a strong team culture.

In 2022, Paul joined the Georgian National team for two Test matches in July and helped coach them to their first ever win against a tier 1 nation (Italy) and assisted in the 2019 RWC Campaign.
